Social / Meet the new faces at SHADES
It’s always an exciting time when we get to welcome new members to the SHADES family. Our people are our biggest asset, and we make a point of only hiring the best, the brightest and the friendliest. Today, we’d like to introduce two new faces: Lucy and Trinh. These guys are our newest furnishing consultants. They both sleep with swatch books under their pillows.
Lucy
Lucy has only been in the industry a couple of years (she studied architecture at Monash University) but we were blown away by her passion and eye for detail. After graduation, Lucy went to work for Elwood’s prestigious design studio, Beatrix Rowe Interior Design. She fell in love with interiors, furnishings and fabrics, and now works as our Showroom Consultant, helping customers select their perfect blinds, curtains and shutters. She’s also quite crafty. “During lockdown I discovered my love for making ceramics and pottery making,” Lucy says. “It’s so satisfying! I’m also the new owner of a puppy, so I love spending lots of time with him.”
Trinh
Trinh (pronounced ‘Gin’) started her career with a Diploma of Interior Design from RMIT. That was nearly 10 years ago. She’s our Soft Furnishings Consultant with oodles of experience and a very impressive resume. “I’ve been in the industry nearly a decade. After finishing my studies, I worked as a window furnishing installation coordinator for three years,” Trinh says. “After that, I moved onto repping for a high-end fabric house, Unique Fabrics. Now I’m back in window furnishings, combining my two passions.” Outside SHADES, Trinh loves hiking, hanging out with family and friends, and “home-cooked meals with a glass of red.” We liked her immediately.
You’ll probably spot Lucy and Trinh next time you visit the SHADES showroom, so don’t be afraid to wander up and say hello. If you’d like to meet more of the SHADES team, check out our website.
