Our approach to window furnishings has always been thoughtful and considered. Moreso than ever, we’ve resolved to take the approach to protect our environment and support the wider community in the year ahead.

Our Commitment

In the past few years, SHADES has been on a mission to prioritise environmental responsibility and embrace eco-friendly practices. By making significant changes to our office operations, we have successfully transitioned to a paperless environment. Additionally, we are proud to announce that we now exclusively use 100% Green Energy, as certified by the GreenPower scheme.

In an effort to reduce single-use waste, our staff proudly use reusable coffee cups on a daily basis. Moreover, we have installed a sparkling water/stilled water tap, significantly reducing the number of bottles we previously discarded as well as recycling all product packaging that is able to be recycled.

At SHADES, we understand the importance of giving back to our community and environment. As part of our sustainability efforts, we donate any surplus fabric to be sold at local markets. The profits generated from these sales are then donated to The Koala Kids Foundation, supporting their impactful work in helping children in need.

Our journey towards sustainability is an ongoing one, and we remain committed to finding new ways to minimise waste, packaging, and our overall impact on the planet. By actively seeking innovative solutions and continually evaluating our practices, we strive to create a more eco-friendly future for all.

We recognise that eco-friendly fabrics and products come at a higher cost, compared to traditional materials. We understand that this can be a deterrent for some individuals and companies, which is why we are committed to making sustainable options more accessible and affordable by reducing the listed fabrics and products by 10%.
