Precise and successful installation is a big part of the SHADES service. Once you’ve selected your premium window furnishings, having them correctly installed can ensure they’re living up to their aesthetic and functional potential.

However, a few years ago, we found ourselves in a position where we couldn’t install window furnishings at all, despite having our own expert team of installers. We won’t labour on that period – you know what happened – but we will say that this time gave us the opportunity to review the installation side of our business with fresh eyes.

Months behind in jobs, we interrogated our processes. And with the luxury of time on our hands, we looked for ways to find new efficiencies that would benefit both our business and our customers.

In the end, this period proved invaluable.

Our installation team has always been a cut above the rest, thanks to a blend of unique skillsets and extensive combined experience. What this time allowed as to do was reassess not who completed installations (we’d nailed that part), but how.

We changed roles internally, seeing one of our directors moving out of sales and into a dedicated leadership position in the installation team. Now, they don’t simply oversee each install, they manage the whole process, ensuring there’s always a rapid response to issues if and when they occur. We also implemented new systems and re-structured our shed, allowing us to better manage complex installs. This means coordinating builder and architect visits, supplying materials, pre-installing tracks, and confirming pelmet details with renewed efficiency.

All so our installation service could run smoother than ever before. And now, it’s doing exactly that. Delivering on a service and an experience that does justice to the quality of the SHADES range.
